Best futures prop firms 2026

Futures funding has its own traps: monthly subscriptions that rebill while you practice, trailing drawdowns enforced intraday, daily flat rules and payout caps. We compared the firms funding CME-listed products on exactly those terms — including what happens after you pass.

How we ranked them: Ranked on total cost to funded (one-time vs rebilling), drawdown definition, holding freedom, payout caps and the published path to live capital. Rules verified July 28–30, 2026. Full disclosure: For Traders is our product. That's exactly why every claim here carries a number you can check, every firm gets its cons listed, and where a competitor is better at something, we say so.

Choosing a prop firm — FAQ

Subscriptions look cheaper per month but rebill while you practice — three months of a $99/mo Combine plus a $149 activation already costs more than most one-time evaluations. If you expect to need more than a month, a one-time fee with unlimited time is usually the cheaper structure.

End-of-day trailing moves your loss limit only at the daily close, so an open winner that retraces doesn't kill the account. Intraday (real-time) trailing follows your open equity peak — the definition traders most often trip on. Always check which one a firm enforces before buying.

At most futures-only firms, no — Topstep requires flat by 3:10 PM CT and Lucid auto-flattens at 4:45 PM ET. Our futures plans state holding windows per plan, and the same login also carries crypto that trades 24/7, so a market view doesn't have to end at the futures close.
